Trip to the wolves
Parc Animalier de Sainte-Croix, France
Today I'm going on a trip to the animal park in Sainte-Croix (France). I'd like to watch wolves there and study their behavior and also take photos of them.
Lots of animals
The park is very big and there are more than 1,500 animals living there. Among them are 5 packs of wolves, 3 of which can be seen as visitors. I'm particularly looking forward to seeing the wolves and am excited to see if I can take some nice photos of them.
Pleasant journey
Because we're going to spend the whole day in the park, we have to leave by bus early in the morning. But luckily there's enough time during the journey to catch up on sleep.
Arrived safely
After a good four hours, we even arrived at our destination a little earlier than planned. We're not the only ones who got up so early this morning; there are also a few other buses full of people waiting for the park to open.
Coffee and croissants
First we have coffee and croissants in the park restaurant. Then we meet our guide, who takes us to the wolves and tells us something about these animals. He is the only one there who speaks German.
Best photo opportunities
Right from the start we can look forward to wonderful photo opportunities, because the white polar wolves are perfectly positioned to be photographed. Then we go to the black wolves and the European gray wolves, which we can also observe beautifully.
Observing animals
After this tour, which lasts around 90 minutes, we have the rest of the day at our disposal. Because the park is so big, it won't be boring and of course I will keep watching the wolves. And suddenly even the three young polar wolves came out of their hiding place. Other animals, such as foxes, ungulates, koalas, pandas, fish and many more can also be observed here. The animal feedings are also very interesting, then you can see all the animals together and very close up. Very ideal for impressive photos.
Facts about the park
The Parc Animalier de Sainte-Croix is around 120 hectares in size and construction is already underway. On more than 4 km of paths you can encounter more than 1,500 animals from over 60 species. In contrast to most zoos, the wild animals here can live like in the wild and have plenty of space for their territories. Another great thing is that you can stay overnight in the park. You can even rent a little house with a view of the wolves. However, the sleeping places are always booked up quickly, you have to book at least a year in advance if you want to spend several days in the park.
