The strongest sled dog
The Alskan Malamute is one of the oldest sled dogs. It was used in the Arctic 2000 years ago to pull heavy loads through rough terrain. The Malamute is both the largest and the strongest sled dog.

Characteristics
In contrast to the Husky, a Malamute may not have blue eyes. Brownish red, black and brown eye colors are permitted. Its fur has gray tones or whitish wolf colors. There are also rare completely white Malamutes.

Special feature
Anyone who has a Malamute on a leash can clearly feel its strength. Like all sled dogs, a Malamute also loves to work and is very happy to pull a sled or cart.

In contrast to the Husky, the Malamute has more strength but less stamina. That is why it is rarely used in races.
