Day 6

The last stage of our mountain tour takes us back to our starting point in Örnvik. We drive south from Kvikkjokk on the Kungsleden and cross the high mountains once again. We drive past an important Sami summer settlement and then arrive in Örnvik.

When we reach our destination, we load the dogs into the transport boxes on the truck and unload our sleds. It all goes quite quickly and soon we are on our way back to Storberg to the husky camp.

Of course, it is difficult for me to say goodbye to the huskies this time too. During a tour like this, you develop a certain relationship with your dogs. You harness them to the sled every day, put booties (shoes) on them and feed them. During the journey, you also have to keep an eye on your team and sometimes intervene if the dogs get tangled in the leash.
