Huky puppies
Wie schnell wächst ein Husky?
It is amazing and at the same time a small miracle of nature how quickly a puppy develops into a fully grown animal. This can also be observed in human babies during the first few years after birth. Due to life expectancy, humans naturally have much more time to grow than dogs, which live for a maximum of around 15 years.
Here you can see how quickly a Siberian Husky grows
A male Husky usually grows quite quickly in the first 12 to 16 months and is then around 60 cm tall when fully grown. The females are usually a few cm smaller and weigh a little less than the males.
A Husky puppy grows the fastest in the first 7 months, and this is also the case with human babies. It can happen that a Husky still grows a little in its second year, but after 2 years at the latest it is fully grown.
Weight gain
After three months, a female Husky should weigh between 8 and 12 kg. In the fourth month, the young dog can weigh up to 15 kg, which is already more than half of its adult weight. A fully grown female Husky ideally weighs 16 to 23 kg. A Husky puppy gains the most weight in the first three months, then in the third month it is 120 grams per day, after which the daily weight gain slows down.
How often does a Husky need to be fed?
In the first two to three months, the young dogs need four meals a day. Then, up to the seventh month, this is reduced to three meals a day. From the seventh month onwards, a Husky usually only needs two meals a day, and after a year you can feed it just once a day.
